In 2000, Raina decided to play cricket Later, he went from Lucknow to his hometown of Muradnagar, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh to participate in Guru Gobind Singh Sports College, Lucknow. He rose to become the captain of Uttar Pradesh U-16 and rose to prominence among Indian selectors in 2002, When he was elected at the age of 15 and 15 for England’s U-19 tour, Where he made a pair of U-19 Test matches in the half-century He toured with Sri Lanka’s U-7 team at the end of that year.
In February 2003, he started the Ranji Trophy for Assam against Uttar Pradesh in the age of 16, But the next season did not play another match.
